Hashnode Bootcamp Day 3

2 min read

As part of the Hashnode Bootcamp, on day three, Sam Sycamore invited the attendees to "pick a niche" for our blog and write an article about it.

So, without further ado, here is the article!

My niche

My niche is quite simple; it is the position that I put myself in.

I am a self-taught developer learning from peers, such as YouTube instructors, online coding schools, Twitter personalities, etc. So, I first group myself with other like-minded students.

For a visual representation, we will put the students in position 1.

The peers I am learning from are in position 3.

Drum roll, please! ๐Ÿฅ

I position myself in position 2, making myself a mediator for students and peers!

Position

  1. Students
  2. Myself
  3. Peers

I am a mediator

As a mediator for students and peers, I write articles of the valuable lessons taught to reinforce what I learn and share it with other students in the web dev community.

So far, I have written articles covering

  • Scrimba
  • freeCodeCamp
  • Fellow students
  • Gary Simon
  • Cassidy Williams
  • Erik Hanchett
  • Sara Shook
  • Shawn Wang
  • Dylan Israel
  • Florin Pop
  • Kevin Powell
  • Danny Thompson
  • James Quick

Generation X

Finally, to create recognizable branding, after combining my age with my love for sci-fi, the result is "Self-Taught The X Generation: Weekly articles from a self-taught Generation X programmer!"
